The Annual Scourge

The chigger is a tiny mite
Who packs a whallop in her bite.
Her gentle stab cannot be felt
Until it makes an itchy welt.

She hatched out on the sixth of June
And bit my leg that afternoon.
Now I'm afraid to go outside
Because a mite would bite my hide.

I laughed out loud!

They are their own plague!
